וְהִקְרִיבָהּ, וְהִגִּישָׁהּ Lev. 2:8

NIV: "Bring the grain offering made of these things to the Lord; present it to the priest, who shall take it to the altar" Here, the act קרב QRB, 'approach, brin...

Re: "oaks of" vs. "Ayalon --"

A declarative name need not end in היא but in הוּא, as in

Re: "oaks of" vs. "Ayalon --"

Thank you for calling our attention to the Scott C. Layton book, “Archaic Features of Canaanite Personal Names in the Hebrew Bible” Speaking about biblical names, it occurred to me to bring up the name אֵסַרחַדֹּן of Isaiah 37:37-38 וַיִּסַּע וַיֵּלֶךְ וַיָּשָׁב סַנְחֵרִיב מֶלֶךְ אַשּׁוּר וַיֵּשֶׁב ...

As I see it, the ending -IY in אֹסְרִי of Gen. 49:11, is the contracted personal pronoun היא, 'he', for the performer of the act אסר ASR, 'bind, tether'.

Re: בְּרִיחַ BRIYAX, Ex. 26:26-29

פרח PRX is extensively used today for 'fly away', in close proximity to ברח BRX, 'escape', but in the תנ"ך it is limited to 'erupt, flare, sprout, bloom', as in Songs 6:11 אֶל גִּנַּת אֱגוֹז יָרַדְתִּי לִרְאוֹת בְּאִבֵּי הַנָּחַל לִרְאוֹת הֲפָרְחָה הַגֶּפֶן הֵנֵצוּ הָרִמֹּנִים NIV: "I wen...

Re: רקח RQX, Ex. 30: 25

The related act חרק XARAQ, (so near to הרג and חרג ) means 'scrape, gnash the teeth', as in Job 16:9 אַפּוֹ טָרַף וַיִּשְׂטְמֵנִי חָרַק עָלַי בְּשִׁנָּיו צָרִי יִלְטֹשׁ עֵינָיו לִי NIV: "God assails me and tears me in his anger and gnashes his teeth at me; my opponent fastens on me his piercing...

Re: Meaning of "Israel"

Here are two interesting names with רם RAM, 'lofty, elevated'.
יְהוֹרָם = יה-הוּא-רם of 1Kings 22:51
and
אֲדוֹנִירָם = אדוֹן-היא-רם of 1Kings 4:6
