Re: Biblical Hebrew vocabulary

If anyone is interested, Mechon Mamre has an online version of the traditional Hebrew text without vowels: http://mechon-mamre.org/i/t/x/x0.htm They also have a תיקון קוראים that places the Masoretic vowels and tone marks on the word when you move your mouse over it. This is available for the Torah ...

Re: Psalm 44:22 - "for your sake we are killed" or just "we are killed"?

This is an interlinear: http://biblehub.com/text/psalms/44-22.htm The problem is in your "interlinear." First off, this isn't an interlinear. Second, the "analysis" it provides is simply referencing the preposition על "on, about, concerning" and not its specific form ע...

Entire theologies have been constructed off of one or two verses. That's probably something that should be avoided if at all possible. ;)

Re: Best Review Text

Barry,

I just got back from Miami. I checked, and I do have the workbook to Basics of Biblical Hebrew along with the textbook - and I have Seow's. If you want some feedback or whatever as you work through whatever you ultimately choose, hit me up.

Regards,
Jason

Re: Best Review Text

Been there, done that. The Greek New Testament is doable, only about two chapters a day. Three or four chapters where the chapters are short. I’d say that my Greek is not as good as the Apostle John, who basically wrote Greek words over an Aramaic base, but good enough with a dictionary to make it....

Instead of studying what other say about Tanakh, wouldn’t it be better just to get into Tanakh itself? Doesn't this kinda undercut the entire enterprise of B-Hebrew? LOL! And in recent weeks I’m kicking myself for spending too much time here and not enough in Tanakh. Karl W. Randolph. Yeah, I thoug...

"One level or another"? Is there somewhere to go to read a description of the plan and details of participation? Yes, during my masters studies at UCLA we had to take a HB readings course: 1-2 Samuel and 1 Kings all in a ten-week quarter. The only exam we took was a comprehension exam, מי...

Re: Best Review Text

Since we're talking about reading both Greek and Hebrew over the year, I think it takes more preparation than reading skills. What I mean is that we're all preparing by using vo...

Aren't we talking about the Tānāḵ and reading each other's perspectives for the sake of learning? I know that what I'm saying is sill...
