Re: Best Review Text

I can get Genesis done really quickly, I'm sure. I foresee problems in some of the tabernacle stuff and sacrifices. Of course, the prophetic portions are going to be confusing. Heh. The "fun" stuff will be in Job and Ezekiel, in my experience. Isaiah is actually pretty easy except for voc...

Re: Best Review Text

"One level or another"? Is there somewhere to go to read a description of the plan and details of participation? Yes, during my masters studies at UCLA we had to take a HB readings course: 1-2 Samuel and 1 Kings all in a ten-week quarter. The only exam we took was a comprehension exam, מי ...

Jason,

What kind of reading skill (fluency, vocabulary, etc.) do you think will be necessary to take on such a challenge?

Re: Should we create a [syr] tag?

I will start learning Syriac soon, so I think a [syr] tag would be helpful. For those like me who are new to the script though, it would be helpful if users included some transliteration along with the Syriac, or a transcription in square script along with individual words/phrases. This is always c...

Re: Syriac (Peshitta) text rendering experiment

I'm going to post this now and check it out on my Windows 10 system and on my iPad III and report back. I checked my up-to-date Windows 10 box, my Ubuntu 17.10 virtual machine, my iPad III (both Chrome and Safari) and my Android smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S5). While there are some variations in rel...

Syriac (Peshitta) text rendering experiment

The simplest and easiest implementation is something similar to Jason's suggestion: <span style='font-size: 130%; line-height: 130%; direction: rtl; unicode-bidi: bidi-override;'>…</span> Here is the text without any special formatting. Is this readable for you? ܦܸܬ̣ܓ̣ܵܡܵܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܐܹܪܲܡܝܵܐ ܒܲܪ ܚܠܲܩܝܵܐ: ...

Re: Should we create a [syr] tag?

Sorry about the delay in responding. I got caught up in the US Thanksgiving holiday and travel. But I'm back in the saddle again! ;) In a subsequent post, I will be getting technical and maybe only Jason will care, but I need community feedback as we proceed. So bear with me and skip over the parts ...
