Re: Biblical Hebrew vocabulary

Dear Karl, I consider the Masoretic text as data: results of the work of certain scribes around 900 AD. It is a curious combination of materials with vast temporal distances between their origins. And the most fascinating is that the vowels are so much younger than the consonants. I am not a Hebrew ...

Re: Biblical Hebrew vocabulary

Dear Karl, I use a database, made in Amsterdam, over the years. It is online. https://shebanq.ancient-data.org/hebrew/text This is the background. https://github.com/ETCBC/shebanq/wiki/Sources And I pick several columns of data from this database, e.g. this one https://etcbc.github.io/bhsa/features/...

Re: Biblical Hebrew vocabulary

It's only an approximation, the lexicon I use is not carved in stone, it is a by-product of the work of the Eep Talstra Centre for Bible and Computer, when they produced their syntactic database of the text and linguistics of the Hebrew Bible. Re: Biblical Hebrew vocabulary

Given the availability of biblical databases, it has become easier to produce such lists yourself.
See https://github.com/ETCBC/bhsa/blob/mast ... tart.ipynb to get started.

Comparing morphology

I am in the process of comparing the Hebrew morphology as encoded by the OpenScriptures initiative with the work of the Amsterdam people at the ETCBC. The former is based on the WLC, the latter on the BHS. I am using Text-Fabric in Jupyter notebooks. The first task was to align the words in both sou...
