Re: chapter divisions of WLC and BHS

I can answer about the WLC, having maintained that text for the past 20 years. ;-) Originally, WLC started with the BHS text. But in 1998 we began to conform the text to the Leningrad Codex, since we now had a photo facsimile of L. I've never done a comparison to the Bomberg text, but L is our manus...

Yes, the forum still follows this protocol. William is new to the forum (Welcome!), and I've been traveling for the holidays and just got back. Thanks for the reminder, Jason.

Biblical Hebrew vocabulary

Is there a file online somewhere that has the complete vocabulary (lemmas) of the Hebrew Bible? And not to be picky, but it would be nice if it was sorted into order of number of occurrences. Asking for a friend. :ugeek:

Re: Best Review Text

I can get Genesis done really quickly, I'm sure. I foresee problems in some of the tabernacle stuff and sacrifices. Of course, the prophetic portions are going to be confusing. Heh. The "fun" stuff will be in Job and Ezekiel, in my experience. Isaiah is actually pretty easy except for voc...

Re: Best Review Text

"One level or another"? Is there somewhere to go to read a description of the plan and details of participation? Yes, during my masters studies at UCLA we had to take a HB readings course: 1-2 Samuel and 1 Kings all in a ten-week quarter. The only exam we took was a comprehension exam, מי ...

Re: Best Review Text

IMO, van der Merwe A Biblical Hebrew Reference Grammar. It's an excellent reference, not as detailed as GKC, Joűon-Muraoka, or Waltke & O'Connor. I think it should be on everyone's shelf.

Re: Should we create a [syr] tag?

I will start learning Syriac soon, so I think a [syr] tag would be helpful. For those like me who are new to the script though, it would be helpful if users included some transliteration along with the Syriac, or a transcription in square script along with individual words/phrases. This is always c...
