The Modern Hebrew Bible
I often see books and articles that discuss the "modern" Hebrew Bible. What does that mean? Is it different than the old Hebrew Bible and what year did it start? Is it the same as the "traditional" Hebrew Bible?

Re: The Modern Hebrew Bible
I don't have the original context, so I can't be sure what any particular author might mean.
But it's well known that the language, grammar and even vocabulary of modern Hebrew differs from the ancient dialect used in the Hebrew Bible. Perhaps what is meant is that the language of the ancient dialect is "updated" to reflect more familiar modern usage?

Κenneth, do you happen to recall the names of any of these authors or titles of the books or articles? Did you find them online?

Re: The Modern Hebrew Bible
I remember seeing a book with the words "Modern Hebrew Bible" as part of the title. Maybe they are not referring to the text, but the style. Maybe it means that the modern Hebrew Bible has a certain number of books and which ones are in it, and not that it was a different text from the past. I can't find it on google books or google scholar or google or on worldcat or amazon. I saw that book and it seems to not exist.

"The Making of the Modern Jewish Bible" by Alan Levenson. I don't know what it is about, but the title confused me, I guess. I must have thought it was the modern Hebrew Bible.

Okay, that title suggests the "modern" part of it is how the Jewish Bible is edited/put together today. Likely the text itself is the standard Masoretic text.
