Exodus 20:14 (Decalogue "adultery") in Leningrad Codex

I'm the publisher of the Unicode/XML Leningrad Codex (UXLC) at <https://tanach.us> and am looking for assistance in setting the accents on the Exodus Decalogue, 20:14.2 ("adultery") , at my site. My goal is to display the accents digitally according to the intent of the LC's scribes.

In the facsimile of the LC in Ex 20:14.2, a right-to-left sequence qamats-meteg appears above an etnachta. In the digital display of the word should the etnachta be in between the qamats-meteg accents or after them?

Ex 2:0.14.2 has a matching word in the Deuteronomy Decalogue, 5:18.2, which clearly has a right-to-left sequence qamats-meteg-etnachta below the aleph.

Thanks,

Honestly, it's odd. I'd read it as you have in your HTML version, as qamats-meteg-etnachta. It seems to be a contradictory form, since there's no reason to have the two dots to the left of the word that look like sof pasuq to me. Also, why have a rafé above the tav when it also has a dagesh lene (that it shouldn't have)?

It looks to me like you have it correct in your present ordering.

This is in a section that has dual trope markings, Upper/Lower accents. In one situation the Lo is read with the dagesh, the other without a dagesh, hence the rafe.

As Chris said, there are two sets of trope in the ten commandments.

The sign is Siluq (and not Meteg) which is the sign of the end of the verse (the two dots are not part of the tropes).

So in the לא תנאף
one set ends the verse (with Siluq)
and the other set put it inside the verse (with Etnachta)

*****
In the handscript, it is hard to understand exactly.
But as you said, in Deut. there is the sequence of Qamats-Siluq-Etnachta

**
I checked another case with Qamats and Siluq - when it is said לשנאי
Also there, there is a sequence of Qamats-Siluq-Etnachta (both in Ex. and in Deut.)

*****
I also saw that Ex. and Deut. are the same in the case of Hiriq & Siluq
And the sequence is Hiriq-Etnachta-Siluq
In the case of מבית עבדים
***
So it seems to me that since there is a match between Ex. and Deut. in the words of לשנאי and מבית עבדים

Plus, in the case of the word לשנאי there is also the combination of Qamats and Siluq in the sequence of Qamats-Siluq-Etnachta.

I think it is right to see it as Qamats-Siluq-Etnachta.
