Day 40 of the Omer count

Is there a prophetic inference that may be drawn from the ascension of Jesus/Yeshua on Day 40 of the Omer ? What is one to understand from the 10-day waiting period until Pentecost ? God is very definite with the use of day counts. I understand the number ten represents His ordinal perfection, but I am at a loss for further understanding.

Also, generally such questions as this (with reference to the New Testament and Jesus) are outside the boundaries of discussion here. We're really about discussion of the Hebrew text, with the emphasis on grammar and linguistics.

Greg,
40 is the number of trial, as in 40 years in the wilderness and 40 days and nights of rain.
10 is complete as in 10 commandments and 10 fingers.
I don't know of any prophetic inference from the fact that Jesus ascended 10 days before Pentecost.

There once existed some primitive word which meant 45 days.
The redactor translated it as 40 when he wished to minimalize it and translated it as 50 when he wished to make it seem bigger.
