Dear All:

When reading through I came across the following:
אדני יהוה נתן לי לשון למודים לדעת לעות את יעף דבר יעיר בבקר בבקר יעיר לי אזן לשמע כלמודים
The DSS Great Isaiah Scroll has the same reading.

The LXX has:

κυριος διδωσιν μοι γλωσσαν παιδειας του γνωναι εν καιρω ηνικα δει ειπειν λογον εθηκεν μοι πρωι προσεθηκεν μοι ωτιον ακουειν

which suggests that the לעות may be a copyist error for לעתו.

I think the Greek translator wasn't sure what to do with לעות and rendered it as ηνικα δει. εν καιρω is only in a handful of manuscripts; it was probably added by someone who thought that's what לעת meant.

Ziegler thought it was an early addition, too:
Die Zusätze 15:3 und 16:4 sind Dubletten nach M; als solche sind auch 17:5 εν τω βραχιονι αυτου und 50:4 εν καιρω (= לָעֵת statt לָעוּת M) zu nehmen, die nicht zum ursprünglichen Sept.-Text gehören. Rahlfs hat sie deshalb zu Unrecht in seinen Text aufgenommen. Der sekundäre Charakter des Einschubs 17:5 wird auch durch das Fehlen in 965 erwiesen (leider ist zu 50:4 Pap. 965 nicht erhalten). Auf der anderen Seite ist aber auf das hohe Alter dieser Zusätze in A hinzuweisen; so liest bereits Clemens von Alexandrien 50:4 εν καιρω.
