זנב
- στύπος 'Stump, Stem'
- στιβάς (סוף) 'bed of straws. rushes or leaves'
- Τυφώς (סופה) - Typhoon , Whirlwind

סוף means 'Reed' and the lexicon mistakenly gives an Egyptian origin, but it is the same as the verb
that means 'End' (Amos 3:15) and זנב can also describe the end or a rush (Isaiah 9:14) and thus they are described as tail-ends.

סוף is στιβάς 'bed of straw, rushes, or leaves'

Job 40:21
קנה - κάννα 'reed'
צאלים - στόλον ' stump of the tail'

בצה
- βάτος 'bramble, blackberry, on that treads '
- βούτομον 'a flowing rush'
- στιβάς ' spread as bedding, treading, rime, hoar frost'

1. The root ערב is related to רפה, ‘limp, sag, droop’.
2. there are internal indications that Job describes the volcanic regions of East Africa

If Job is describing the volcanic regions of East Africa then its in a Carthaginian context and ערב is another word for West (Psalm 103:12).

Hesperides (Ἑσπερίδες) also called Atlantides (Ἀτλαντίδων)
"The Hesperides tend a blissful garden in a far western corner of the world, located near the Atlas mountains in North Africa at the edge of the encircling Oceanus, the world-ocean."

Since Hebrew tends to reverse Prefixes and Suffixes, the word Ἑσπερίδες (אשפרד) becomes Paradise(פרדאש)
and παραδείσῳ is the Septuagint name for Eden.

The whereabouts of Job is unknown.

Job 1:1 - עוץ - Σκυθία? (Scythia)

-Gen 10:23-
Aram - Ἀρμενία
Uz- Σκυθία?
Hul - Κολχίς
Gether - Ἰστρίη?
Mash - Μόσχοι

עציון־גבר - Scythian Harbor
1Kings 22:48 - Jehoshaphat made ships of Carthage to go to Ophir where there is Gold.

אופר - Aurum 'Gold'
פז - Φᾶσις 'River Phasis, the boundary of Europe and Asia, land of Gold
בוז - Φᾶσις?

I do need to investigate if the Phoenician had colonies around the Black Sea.

סוף is like סוב, the point of turning back, the high point of the road. A turn rises like an U, while this — is flat, thin and low.
סף SAP, related to צף, ‘float’, as in סַף הַשַּׁעַר of Ezekiel 40:6, is the swelling by the door, the threshold. Also a tall cup, a ספל SEPEL, as in Zechariah 12:2, and so is the tall סוּף.
זנב is, indeed, related to סב and סף. Also to סעף, סנף, צנף.

I have solved the etymology of Elephant, from Μέγα βοῦς "Big Ox".

Ox - Bos, βοῦς, βόσκημα, βῆμα, בים , במה, בהמה

(A) μέγᾶ βος → μέγᾶ δος → μέγᾶ δολ → מגדלגדל
(B) μέγᾶ βος → έγᾶ βος → έλᾶ βος → ἐλέφας

μεγαλέων = עליון = ὑπερίων = עבריון (Synonyms)
μέγας → μέγαδ → μαδ → מאד

These match the Ancient Egyptian " m-k-tỉy-r , m-g-ꜣ-dy-r , m-ky-dy-l-t and m-k-tỉ-r," that are various renderings of Migdol
thereby revealing the Biblical name of Elephantine.

Ezekiel 29:10 ( מגדל סונה )
The tower of Syene even unto the border of Ethiopia.

Herodotus 2:30
Watchposts at Elephantine facing Ethiopia

The Hebrew root גדל has in it the letter ל L for 'elevate'.
