In Ex. 4:10 we have כְבַד-פֶּה, namely, A-E, but in Isaiah 1:4 it is כֶּבֶד עָו‍ֹן, namely, E-E-A.

This too: נַחַת וָזֶרַח שַׁמָּה וּמִזָּה Gen. 36:13.
As they did not encounter a dagesh in the letter Z of וָזֶרַח, the NAQDANIYM were prevented from placing a patax under the waw, and had to resort to a qametz, which appears to me to be, at least here, a compromise marking combining a horizontal patax and a vertical schwa.

Contrary to, say, וַיִּקְרָא = בא-היא-קרא, Lev. 1:1, where the yod is with an inner dot, and the waw is over a patax.
