NIV: "but love your neighbor as yourself."
in which רֵעַ REA, 'friend, acquaintance, kin, neighbor, fellow, partner', is not to be confused with רוֹעַ ROA, 'evil, wickedness'. Both are of the uniliteral Hebrew root ר R, referring to a material state of several bodies. So, רְעוּת ReUT, is 'a friendly and unfettered association of free persons', whereas רוֹעַ ROA is 'corruption, disintegration, dissolution, decrepitude.'
