We read there
וְאָבִיהָ יָרֹק יָרַק בְּפָנֶיהָ הֲלֹא תִכָּלֵם
KJV: "If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed?"
The root YRQ is a bona fide member of the root family:
דרג, דרך
זרג, זרח, זרק
טרח, טרק
ירח, ירך, ירק
סרג, סרח, סרך, סרק
צרח, צרך
שרג, שרח, שרך, שרק
רכך, רקק

typified by זרק ZARAQ, 'throw, cast, hurl, lob'.
רוֹק ROQ, 'saliva, spittle' (see Isaiah 50:6) is certainly but a variant of רוֹךְ ROK, 'softness, tenderness, delicateness', (see Deut. 28:56), as are רוּחַ RUAX, 'wind', רֵיחַ REYAX, 'odor, smell' (see Gen. 8:21), and רֵיק REYQ, 'empty' (see Jer. 51:34).

ירק YARAQ in the sense of greenery (namely that which is growing) is actually a זרק ZARAQ, throwing forth its shoots to sprout and spring out of the earth.

Looking at ערך we realize that only that which is soft, pliable and particulate, that which is רך, can be arranged in a מַעֲרָךְ = מה-ערך עָרוּךְ = ער-הוּא-ך.

אָרוֹךְ AROK is also full of רוֹךְ ROK.

What is actually אָרוֹךְ AROK and full of רוֹךְ ROK? A שְרוֹךְ SROK is אָרוֹךְ AROK and full of רוֹךְ ROK.
