We read there
NIV: "the male goats mating with the flock were streaked, speckled or spotted."
KJV: "and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled."
with בְּרֻדִּים being but a slight variation of פְּרֻדִּים, 'separate', as are the hailstones of Ex. 9:18
KJV: "Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt"
Also related to the root BRD-PRD is the root פרט PRT, 'particulate, breakup, separate, detach, detail', of which is the PERET of Lev. 19:10
KJV: "And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger"
Also the post biblical פְּרוּטָה PRUTAH, 'penny, small coin, small change'.
