We read there
KJV: "And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck"
Here רָבִד = רב-היא-ד 'breast latticework', is from the root רבד RBD, a member of the root family
all including the constituent, uni-literal, element R, indicating that these roots refer to a particulate material state. Indeed, only that which is particulate, or lightly connected, can be spread, stretched out, dispersed or smeared.
Another derivative of this root is מַרְבַד = מה-רבד, 'carpet, covering, spreads, bedspread, blanket', as in Proverbs 7:16
NIV: "I have covered my bed with colored linens from Egypt."
Closely related is the root רבץ RBC, 'crouch, lie down, stretch oneself on the ground, spread oneself on the ground, lie prostrate, rest flat, couch, stretch oneself out', as in Gen. 49:9
KJV: "he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?"
Also מִרְבַּץ = מי-רבץ, 'resting place, couching place, lie-down place', as in Ezekiel 25:5
KJV: "And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couching place for flocks"
