There is interesting semantics discoveries i have found here.
- Hosea 11:8 אמגנך ישראל "How shall thy defend Israel" (ὑπερασπιῶ)
- Lamentations 3:65 מגנת־לב "Shielding of the heart" (ὑπερασπισμὸν)
- Genesis 15:1 אנכי מגן לך "I am thy shield" (ἐγὼ ὑπερασπίζω σου)

The Septuagint here reads אמגן as ὑπερασπίζω "cover with a shield", the same verb in Proverbs 4:9, תמגנך "she defend thee"
so why is it mistranslated in all the Bible versions. The Gk verb from σπιδής (derivation unknown) but one instance in Homer, σπιδέος πεδίοιο (the wide plain) which describes a plain as "shield-like" that translates into מגן־עדן read as "garden of Eden" rather then "wide-plain".

The Septuagint reads מגן־עדן as a παράδεισος, however this word cannot be broken down, παρά-δεισος, the meaning of this word is explained in Latin, the homologue of Praesidium 'defence, guard, a place occupied by troops', that breaks down into prae(πάρα) +‎ sedeō (ἕδος).

מגן־עדן "shield-like plain"

In 1 Samuel 17:5, שריון means "breastplate, parapet, habergeons, shield" , this is θώραξ and the namesake of Σύριος "Coelosyria" and according to Pliny the elder, there is a place called Paradisus in Laodicea ad Libanum (Lebanon) in the district of Laodikênê and Ezekiel 31:16 puts Eden in Lebanon.
