What does it mean for a dagesh to be "independent"? Dagesh forte follows the definite article (ה-הידיעה).

OK, then I will bring my own example:
הַבַּיִת
I do, indeed, see a dot (a "dagesh forte") placed inside the letter בּ, but the dot is not there because the ה before it is ה-הידיעה, not even because it is an ה.
