Re: Tiphel verbs
Why not just write "hapax" and be understood? Everyone knows what "hapax" means.

Re: Tiphel verbs
Oh, you were saying that αλ means ἅπαξ λεγόμενον/λεγόμενα! I thought you were guessing that תִּרְגַּ֫לְתִּי was an instance of ἅπαξ λεγόμενον, and I was agreeing with you.
I'm notoriously terrible at guessing at abbreviations.

I don't, but I googled it, so now I do, but I am sure I will forget within a few hours because it is hard to remember.Jason Hare wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 2:52 pm Why not just write "hapax" and be understood? Everyone knows what "hapax" means.

Re: Tiphel verbs
I suppose I guessed it because I pronounce Greek the Greek way (not Erasmian!) and so ignore the rough breathing.

Re: Tiphel verbs
Oops..."legomena" is actually plural. Guess I need to review some Greek participle charts...
