We are making great progress! The U in the פֻּעַל PUAL verbal form is no more a mere vowel, but it is actually an "infix". Moreover, it "just represents passive in Hebrew." We are almost there.

Well, when I am in the presence of a master whose theoretical basis for language overshadows everything ever written by any linguist or hebraist in history, I can do nothing but attempt to soak in the clarity of teaching and insight.
