This word, meaning “citizen” or “native,” is turned into an adjective in later Hebrew to mean “civil” as opposed to traditional or religious. The שָׁנָה אֶזְרָחִית is mentioned specifically because the unqualified שָׁנָה טוֹבָה is used as a greeting/blessing for Rosh HaShanah (רֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה), the traditional Jewish New Year in September or October (the first of the month of Tishrei).

When I was little in the early 1970's, there was an Israeli song called "Machar" and I remember a little part of it: "sing for tomorrow, it is another day, full of joy and sorrow..."
Do you know that song? Only the word "machar" was in Hebrew and the rest was in English.

I’m not familiar with it. If you had a few more words in Hebrew, maybe I could find it. I searched for עוד יום מלא שמחה and didn’t find anything similar.

but I know there was an English version.
