I'm Ken Penner.
Education
I began studying Hebrew by correspondence, then at Regent College (Vancouver) under Dave Diewert and Bruce Waltke, earning a Master of Christian Studies in Biblical Languages. I then studied at McMaster University majoring in Early Judaism, minoring in Early Christianity, for a M.A. on Hebrew Poetics in the Hodayot, and a Ph.D. on the verbal system of the Dead Sea Scrolls, under Eileen Schuller.
Employment
I worked at Acadia Divinity College for two years, and since then I've been teaching at St. Francis Xavier University, where I am Associate Professor of Religious Studies.
Interests and Projects
My main interests are computers and biblical languages, especially where the two intersect.
I am writing a commentary on Greek Isaiah, revising my dissertation, and proposing a revision of a prominent Hebrew grammar. I am co-director of the Online Critical Pseudepigrapha and one of the moderators for the sister to this forum, B-Greek. I am the author of Flash! Pro vocabulary memorization software.
I am also a U2 fan.
