Hello, everyone.

My name's Jason Hare. I began studying Hebrew my sophomore year at Ozark Christian College (OCC) in Joplin, MO, with Dr. Larry Pechawer. I took two years of Hebrew with him, in which we translated the Joseph narrative in Genesis, the book of Hosea and several smaller sections of the narrative portions of the Bible. We also had the chance to look at the Mesha Stele and the Siloam Inscription to become familiar with the letter shapes of ancient Hebrew.

I began studying modern Hebrew in 2003 prior to my conversion to Judaism and my first trip to Israel. I went to Israel for the first time in summer 2004 and returned to Tel Aviv again in 2006. In 2007, I made the move to Israel and took two courses in modern Hebrew language (ulpan). Since then I've been living my daily life in the Hebrew language, and I began teaching Hebrew online to English-speaking students through my website, The Hebrew Café. I am right now preparing a study for intermediate students of modern Hebrew to work through the translated work The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.

I've been off-and-on on B-Hebrew since 1999.

Regards,
Jason Hare
