I was participating in b-Hebrew from 2009-2012. I was gone for almost exactly a year. I hope to participate regularly again, as I get more out of the Bible when I do.

I was brought up nominally Orthodox Jewish in Baltimore. I went to Hebrew school until I was 13, and then was one of the few who elected to continue on to what was called Hebrew College, for another 2 years.

I met the Lord Jesus when I was a junior in college in Cleveland. That was May, 1974. I was baptized Feb, 1975.
In college I also took 2 semesters of Hebrew, which was pretty much a review of what I had as a boy.

I am a Computer Aided Design programmer for Ford Motor Co. in metro Detroit. (My area is occupant packaging, so if you have any complaints about Ford vehicles' headroom, legroom, driver vision, luggage space, etc. let me know, and I'll get it to the right people.)
I have happily worked at Ford for 35 years, been happily married for 30, and have 3 grown children. My oldest just got married.

I am very mathematical, as is my Dad and as was my Dad's Dad.

I have also been an active Toastmaster for 12 years. (Toastmasters is an international non-profit organization to develop public speaking and leadership skills.) This year I came in 1st in the division humorous speech contest for the Detroit southern suburbs, and now advance to the district contest which covers all of SE Michigan, NW Ohio and SW Ontario. The title of my speech is "Listen to Your Wife".

My reasons for wanting to know more Biblical Hebrew are:
- I think Old Testament translations are far less accurate than NT. It seems to me that there has been far less care and prayer given to OT translation by Christians than NT.
- in order to understand the prophecies
- to enjoy the Psalms

My favorite book in the Bible is Psalms. I have translated and made songs of about 50 of them so far. My favorite Psalm is Psalm 22.
I also have prophecy interpretations of Zechariah chapters 11 & 5-6, and Isaiah 13.
These, as well as my testimony of how I met the Lord, and how my mother got saved, are on my website below.
