The word "together"

Post by Kenneth Greifer »

Is there a reason why the word "together" is written two different ways: יחד or יחדו?

Good question. That shouldn’t be too hard to answer. Both forms together are used only around 150 times in Tanakh.

I know better than to promise you fame and recognition should you find the answer. Those didn’t come to me when I discovered why some nouns are found in both masculine and feminine forms.

ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό = יחדו

-cognates-
Latin : iuctim *iuc/יח
Spanish : Juntu *Jutu/יחדו

Possibly יחדו = יחדוּ = יחד-הוּא for those that are together.
