I tend to agree that Adonis = Adon-is (also Odin), is indeed the biblical Adonai, with the addition of the "suffix" -is, namely, 'he is the master'. Adonis is one of the deities that the ancient Greeks inherited or imported from the east. So is also Athena אדוֹנה Adona, corresponding to the biblical דן (A)dan, and דינה Diynah.

Seems to me further that the Olympian Apollo is but the eastern בעל Baal, that Zeus (Deus, Dionysus) is from עד or עז, and that Marathon (Μαραθών) is a worship place of מר-אתוֹן = מר-אדוֹן, not merely a place of the fennel.
Cadmus is one of the sons of קדם QEDEM, 'the east'.

Lee כתב:
he cognate of פת is ψωμός and the root is ψάω(psáō) 'crumble' the poetry rhymes the
word with πηδάω 'leap' ( of the heart, to leap, to pass over).

There are no Greek-Hebrew or Hebrew-Greek cognates, because they are not in the same language family. Latin pater and Greek πατηρ are cognates because both are Indo-European. There are Hebrew-Aramaic cognates, but no Hebrew-Greek cognates. None whatsoever. Not possible, because they are not related linguistically.

The Jewish Passover was not borrowed from pagan religion, Greek or any other. According to the Torah, it was given to Israel by Yahweh, the God of Israel. That there might be some superficial parallels to Greek meals is irrelevant.

πατηρ : פטר

The cognate is confirmed in Exodus 34:19 in which the masculine
noun , פטר is the one that opens the womb and also confirmed
in the New Testament with the introduction of Peter.

Luke 2:23
Every male that opens (διανοίγω/פטר ) the womb shall be called holy
** Then Peter is introduced in 2:25

Exodus 25:33 - Bulb(כפתר) of a flower
- כפתר : knob, bulb , capital (of a pillar) *masculine noun
Capital : כפתר

יהו פטר : Jupiter
πατηρ - πατ - אב- אבת

Read and learn what "cognate" means when referring to languages. These cannot be cognates because they are not descended from related languages. I work with eight different languages, so I know a little something about cognates.

Context matters, Lee. The man named Συμεών or Simon in Lk. 2:23 is not Simon Peter. Simon Peter does not appear in Luke's Gospel until chapter 5, when he is called to be Jesus' disciple. The Simon in Lk. 2 is an old man, a Jewish prophet. Jesus was just a baby at this time.

Both this Simon and Simon Peter were Jewish, and both served God. But they are not the same individual.
