Epistle [על־פי־שלח]

Post by Saboi »

The word שלח is identical with στέλλω compare with the popular Christian word, "Apostle" , a compound of ἀπο + στέλλω
that semantically equates with משלח.

A synonym is מלאך, but the Lexicon gives no root, however the root is לוח that is πλάξ [πλάκα]
and the name for a writing-tablet (cf. ἐπιστολή "Letter"), the means of messaging.

Deuteronomy 9:17 - שני לחת- δύο πλακῶν- שני מלאכים - Genesis 19:1

The word Angel in Genesis 19:1, מלאכים translates ἄγγελοι and is the same as אגרתא[Ezra 5:6] that is grammatically ἀγγελίαι
and translates as ἐπιστολῆς which is semantically בשלח or על־שלח or לפי־שלח or על־פי־שלח

על־פי־שלח > ע־פי־שלח > ἐ-πι-στολή "Epistle"
