That is the Linear B word for Goat alongside the Phoenician word, עז "áz" and both names are represented
as two symbols, the Greek word is αιγ/αιξ and thus the Phoenician retains the terminal ז/ζ and also. ai-za is a she-goat.

A male-goat is a תיש and the translation is τράγος "He-goat", it is thus obvious that יש is a form of עז (-ιγ, -ιξ) and thus initial ת and τρ is the masculine marker, a relic of the former language or a product.

αἰγῶν & עזים are heterogeneous nouns therefore need an adjective to determine the gender.

Genesis 15:9
- עז משלשת/αἶγα τριετίζουσαν "she goat of three years old" (feminine numeral)
- איל משלש/ κριὸν τριετίζοντα " ram of three years old" (Since איל is ram, a male, the number is neutral)

Genesis 32:14
- עזים מאתים - αἶγας διακοσίας
- תישים עשרים - τράγους εἴκοσι

Daniel 8:5
- צפיר העזים/τράγος αἰγῶν "he-goat"

Songs 4:1
- עדר העזים/ἀγέλαι τῶν αἰγῶ "she-goat"

Gen 37:31
- שעיר עזים/ἔριφον αἰγῶν "young male goat"

Numbers 7:16
- שעיר־עזים/χίμαρον ἐξ αἰγῶν "young male goat"

Daniel 8:21

It is obvious that the Greek of Daniel 8:21 is semantically incorrect, the correct reading is probably ὁ χίμαρος τῶν ἐρίφων
that seems to translate as "a young goat born in the winter", perhaps the origin of the wintry Capricorn zodiac.

The word for a "goatherd" does not appear in the Hebrew scripture as far as i know, however in the Septuagint version
of Amos 7:14 there is αἰπόλος, but a mistranslation בוקר which is a βουκόλος "cowherd", the word for Shepherd that is רעה is ἄγραυλος (cf. οὐρός, φρουρός, פרעה) and a נקד is ἄφετος "sacred flocks".

גדי is a diminutive of עזי (cf. αἰγίδιον, γίδι)
יעלי is a form of יער/ἄγριος "wild, of animals, αἴξ"
עתוד is κτίζω, κτίσις, κτίλος "tame, docile, obedient, ram'

I have solved the etymological problem with the word שעיר & Σάτυρος, the root word is דשא/δάσος "shaggy"
that can mean thickly wooded, thickets, bushy, hairy and can also describes clouds, thickly clouded hence a tempest or storm cloud.

The word עשב is a form of דשא, homologous with δασύ → δασβ → ασβ → עשב, the author of Genesis indicates
that the name עשו is named for שער and the Septuagint authors supplies δορὰ δασύς. (gen 25:25).

δασύς > δασύρ > δασύρος > σάτυρος

Psalm 55:8 - windy storm & tempest (סעה מסער, δάση, δάσους)
Jonah 1:21 -tempest (הסער, δασεῖ)
