We read there
NIV: "If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him"
KJV: "If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him"
with בְּגַפּוֹ = ב-גף-הוּא being from the root גף, a member of the root family

Thus, בְּגַפּוֹ is בְּגַבּוֹ, בְּגֵווֹ, בְּגוּפוֹ, 'by his own body only'.

In Prov. 9:3
KJV: "upon the highest places of the city"
NIV: "from the highest point of the city,"
גַּפֵּי is obviously גַּבֵּי

From the להגיף, 'close, shut off', of Nehemiah 7:3
NIV: "I said to them, The gates of Jerusalem are not to be opened until the sun is hot. While the gatekeepers are still on duty, have them shut the doors and bar them"
we have the post biblical MGUPAH, 'plug, stopper'.

Also due mentioning here is the post biblical MAGAP, 'boot, high shoe'.
Yet, מַגָּב is מה-נגב, 'wiper, squeegee'.
