Anyone know cognates for נָאַף, 'to commit adultery'?
They seem strangely absent.

Before looking for "cognates" in other languages we should seek, methinks, the physical manifestation of the alluded act נאף NAAP. In Lev. 10:20 the Onkelos Aramaic translation of ינאף YINAP is יגוף YGUP, apparently of the root GP, NGP, GPP, 'pile, fall over'.
Thus, NAAP seems to be, on the one hand, a variant of NUP, 'lift', and on the other hand, of NAGAP, 'collide, impact'.
Similarly in Arabic.
