NAZIYR, a Nazarite, has nothing to do with Nazareth

Post by Isaac Fried »

While reading today in Nu. 6:1-21, then in Judges 13, about the נזיר NAZIYR, 'the Nazarite', a friend of mine asked if there is any relationship between NAZIYR and the town name Nazareth. I pointed out to him that NAZIYR is written in Hebrew with the letter Zayin, while Nazareth is written in Hebrew with a Tsade.
