TAZRIA, Lev. 12:2

Post by Isaac Fried »

We read there:
NIV: "A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son"
in which תַזְרִיעַ = אתה-זר-היא-ע (from the root זרע related to זרה), with the common understanding that both PP אתה and היא refer to the woman, not to the man.

The root זרע is a bona fide member of the family of roots
all having the kernel meaning of 'cast, spread'.
