The Unicode/XML Westminister Leningrad Codex site at

<https://www.tanach.us>

is now provided as an https service secured by a Let's Encrypt certificate. No password or credentials are required; however, viewers are now protected against some malware attacks, such as "man in the middle" injection of malicious code.

The https service at the Unicode/XML Westminister Leningrad Codex site at

<https://www.tanach.us>

as caused the site to fail. It's now back at its unlocked status and working properly.

Depending on your browser, you may experience difficulties is you accessed the site while it was "locked". To verify that the site is working, try opening it in a private window. To fix the problem in normal windows, clear you cache (and about everything else) and restart your browser.

The Unicode/XML Westminister Leningrad Codex site at

<https:/tanach.us> or <http://tanach.us>

is now operational with https/SSL service. In addition to the SSL service, the web server and the Sarissa Javascript compatibility library have been upgraded to the latest versions.

A secondary Unicode/XML Westminister Leningrad Codex is now available at

<http://cvkimball.com/Tanach>

as a backup. It operates in "Local mode" and is a little slower than the main site.

Thanks for your patience.

Yesterday's statistics show that some folks may have difficulties entering the secured version of the Unicode/XML Westminister Leningrad Codex at

<https://tanach.us>.

Please contact me at <mail "at sign" cvkimball.com> if you or someone you know is having problems.

I've verified site operation on OSX, Windows 7, Windows 10, and Linux with the current Firefox. And with current IE and Edge browsers on Windows 7 and 10.

If you have problems, there are now two things to check.

1. Clear the browser cache as thoroughly as possible. Restart the browser, preferably the system.

2. Verify that your machine's date and time are somewhat current. If your date is days behind or ahead of the present, the SSL certificate will be taken as invalid.

SSL protection is now the accepted internet standard (see the lock on Google search results) and there's no going back to an unsecured connection.

Thanks,
