David Stark has an informative post about Unicode and the biblical languages, especially how to conveniently type Greek and Hebrew.

In particular, he points to the keyboard drivers for Windows made freely available (you don't need to buy the Logos software): https://www.logos.com/product/53264/ori ... or-windows.

The Society of Biblical Literature also offers Windows keyboard drivers in association with their SBLGreek, SBLHebrew, and SBLBibLit fonts: https://www.sbl-site.org/educational/biblicalfonts.aspx and https://www.sbl-site.org/educational/bi ... ebrew.aspx. Since the keyboard drivers produce Unicode text, it doesn't matter what font you use, as long as it is a Unicode font for Greek, Hebrew, etc.

Unicode is the default text enter system on all major platforms—Mac, Windows™ and Linux—for a long time. It was a free installation on Mac OS9 and standard on all Macs since. It’s been a standard on Linux since I first used it. And it’s standard on Windows™ 10. I choose the standard Greek keyboard as used in Greece to have typing standardized across all platforms, and the Hebrew layout as used in Israel for the same reason. Yes, I had to learn those key layouts, but at least on the Mac there’s the “Open Keyboard” option which opens a window to show which key is what letter.
