I can't quite figure out how the name Samuel is formed in 1 Sam 1:20. Here's the part of the verse:
וַתִּקְרָ֤א אֶת־שְׁמוֹ֙ שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל כִּ֥י מֵיְהוָ֖ה שְׁאִלְתִּֽיו
it says "and she called his name Samuel because from the Lord I asked for him"I can see the last word in the verse has the letters שׁאל (which is almost Samuel except it's missing מוּ
If I "break down Samuel" it almost looks like "his name God".
But Hannah says specifically that she called him Samuel because "from the Lord I asked for him" (so how does that "equal" Samuel??
