Chris,

We normally don't allow discussions to move beyond the language and immediate meaning of the text, i.e., into theological interpretations. Another disallowed topic is Jesus' fulfillment of OT prophecy, for example. It gets tricky with the prophets because they are predicting the future.

I'll tolerate this thread for now, but will ask everyone to be cautious, humble, polite, and not wander too far off our charter, which is language and text of the Hebrew Bible. I'll also ask for everyone's understanding if I shut down the thread -- or at least, discussion of modern historical fulfillment of prophecy. ;)
