SO Annotation in BDB entry

Post by briceg »

Hello, quick BDB question. What does the SO annotation mean? I am pretty sure it is not the "A. Socin" abbreviation.

It’s the English word so, meaning thus (“in this way, in this form”). In this case, it means that the word אֱלֹהּ appears in Deuteronomy 32:17 without any affixes (prefixes or suffixes) and without a vav, whereas “elsewhere” (the lexicon says) it appears with a vav in its various forms (אֱלוֹהַּ).
