Is it true that the primary meaning of סוד is "a confidential discussion, a circle of confidants, or a council"?

Karl W. Randolph.
The subject of an intimate consultation is often one which the participants don’t want blabbed abroad. So in that case, it could be understood as something private, a “secret” in English.MGWB wrote:Thank you.kwrandolph wrote:Found in the dictionary — “consultation, often intimate or private Am 3:7, Pr 15:22, 20:19 ⇒ group for consultation Jr 6:11, 15:17, Ps 111:1”MGWB wrote:Is it true that the primary meaning of סוד is "a confidential discussion, a circle of confidants, or a council"?
Is this the most basic form of the word, and can it also mean "secret"?
