Chabad's web Tanakh: the weirdest and probably the worst

Post by bdenckla »

The Chabad website has an edition of the Hebrew Bible called The Complete Tanach with Rashi (CTR). See my review.

I don't usually look at this discussion forum, but I am for some unknown reason, and I thought your review would be about the quality of the translation of their Tanach. I have looked at it a little, and I don't like it. I am not an expert, but it seems to be a bad translation. What do you think?

You sound like an expert in Hebrew fonts, etc., so I wanted to ask you, is there some software that people use to make ebooks with Hebrew and English without the vowels that is easy to use for people who don't know technical things? Is Epub good for Kindle books or nook books? Or is there a problem with the Hebrew? I heard that there is a software called Scrivener for people who write books, and it can make ebooks too, but I don't know how it handles Hebrew? Also, maybe just using Word or Wordperfect 2021, which is what I have?
