But תשובה is found only six times in Tanakh, every time in the construct case, five times referring to the same time in the (following) year and once to “your coming around” as in Job’s “friends” surrounding him (Job 21:34). Not once does it refer to repentance. Hence, this is not a Biblical Hebrew feature.

I was referring to the grammatical feature "cognate accusative", not to the semantic value of the words. As to the semantic notion of repentance, I wonder if this comes from Mishnaic use of the two words( the noun and the verb).

I’ve seen that in other modern languages, so I didn’t think anything of it.
