As far as I know, the MM is just the notes on the hand script that are written on the upper and lower margins.
The Mp is what is written on the side.
But when there were longer notes, they were written on the upper and lower margins. And that is called MM.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification on 2214, I thought this was a number of a manuscript. But I see it is a BHS note.

Thanks, David. I don't usually look at the original codices, etc., so I wouldn't have known where or in what margin the Leningrad Codex puts its MM. As you can tell, the MM is not actually included in BHS, but it does help you to refer to them and get the same info.

I hope I understood your question right and didn't send us on a rabbit trail, looking for the wrong '2214'. :-D
