Most of us love free books, particularly if they are helpful in our Hebrew and related studies. I found some that are perfect for this aim just recently, while going to a link for free open access Latin classics. It turns out the same publisher also provides free open access books for Semitic languages, including Biblical Hebrew. The site is Open Book Publishers, online at https://www.openbookpublishers.com/cate ... cultures
.
The books are in the Cambridge Semitic Languages and Cultures series. Starting with the Hebrew titles, they include studies in Biblical Hebrew grammar and syntax, including the verb system, as well as works on rabbinical and medieval Hebrew. There are also works examining the Masoretic Text and the Samaritan Pentateuch for textual criticism. Besides the Hebrew books, there are works on Biblical Aramaic and even neo-Aramaic. And there are ones on Arabic as well.
Once on the above web page, scroll through the listings (over forty to choose from) click on a title to go to the download page, then click the download button and choose PDF. It will take you to a new page, where a toolbar appears with the enlarged image of the book’s cover. Click the icon on the right of the toolbar to download.
If you prefer a print edition, you can also get this from the same site. Just click on Printed Editions on the same page where you clicked the first download button. Or, you also have the option of reading online. However, as most volumes are over 100 pages, that may not be the best option for you.
The series' authors include well-known Hebrew scholars such as Geoffrey Khan and Aaron D. Hornkohl, the latter of whom we have recommended already in our forum.
I have read some papers by Hornkohl, and found them helpful. So am sure his longer work will be, as well. No doubt those of his colleagues featured on this site will also be worth the time.
Each of these volumes is a complete book, and open access, no registration needed. And, the pdf edtion of each is free to download and use, no purchase necessary.
Enjoy,

To clarify: the pdf editions are free. If you want the print edition, those are for purchase.
