Can I get Help with Kennicott's and DeRossi's MSS Lists?

Post by LHurley »

I'm trying to do some work with text criticism, just an exercise on a verse in the Psalms. I'm having trouble reading Kennicott's and DeRossi's tools for listing out their manuscripts. Unfortunately, they appear to be different problems.

DeRossi appears to just list two variant readings and list a ton of manuscripts. Is there any way to tell from the list which ones attest to which readings?

Kennicott is clear about which manuscripts match to which words, but it seems like I'm having to guess where in the verse the word appears. Is that right?

Here are the listings I'm working with.

Which specific verse are you looking at from there? It would help to know where to look without deciphering the whole page. :)

Are you talking about the readings מעשה and ומעשה as opposed to מעשי?

Maybe I don't understand your problem,
But I see that he writes the chapter and the verse.

For example, as Jason saw מעשי...
The list has a section which its title is CXXXVIII 8
which mean chapter 138:8
